Bob explained the structure of the ISO
TC201 committee. He listed the eight subcommittees in TC201
and the work of the group. 51 delegates attended the meeting
of whom 9 were from the UK. The meeting lasted 3 days and
as always was intensive, with aggressive discussions in
some areas. The UK has tried to lead wherever possible and
protect the interests of the UK based surface analytical
manufacturers. The work is progressing at a reasonable rate
but problems occur where national interests of a specific
country, are thought to be endangered by one of the other
national bodies.
