PEEM - Photo Emission Electron Microscopy

PEEM operates by shining linearly or circularly polarised X-rays onto the sample surface. The distribution of electrons being emitted from the surface can be imaged. The technique has particular applications in magnetic domain imaging and is thus complementary to Kerr microscopy (see MOKE), SEMPA and MFM. With PEEM it is possible to derive all three components of magnetisation.
